Mynydd y Gwair Wind Farm – Community Liaison Group

Construction has started on the 16 turbine Mynydd y Gwair Wind Farm being developed by Innogy Renewables UK Ltd (innogy).  Swansea based company, Dawnus, have been contracted to carry out the first section of development, which is to form the access and work on the tracks and road, leading up to the wind farm site.  As part of the development, innogy has established a Community Liaison Group which will meet regularly throughout the construction period, until the turbines are operational, probably towards the end of 2018.

The Community Liaison Group is an information exchange, giving the developer the opportunity to update members on progress, share construction plans, and providing other representatives with a forum in which to raise questions.  It is not a decision making body.  Meetings are facilitated by an independent chair, and the group typically meets on a monthly basis.  The four community councils most affected by the development have nominated representatives, as have the local police, the contractor working on the development, and the planning and highways departments of Swansea City Council, who all send representatives.

If you want any further information on the Mynydd y Gwair Wind Farm, or have any queries or concerns, or simply want to make a comment, innogy has put in place a number of methods in which you can contact them.  Please feel free to get in touch with them:
